Harvey Lee
Meet Harvey Lee, one of NCP’s Parent Advisory Board members.
Harvey E. Lee Jr. began his career in communications in 1990. After graduating from Tufts University in Medford, MA, with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, he relocated to Atlanta and joined MTV Networks’ Affiliate Sales & Marketing division, as a Sales & Marketing Coordinator. While at MTV Networks, he sold MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, and HA! The TV Comedy Network to Multiple System Operators (MSOs) within the Southeastern Region.
Several years later, when the primetime television series “In the Heat of the Night” moved from NBC to CBS, he joined the cast as a series regular and subsequently performed in various film and television projects.
In 1998, he moved back to his hometown of Providence, RI to open a Kinko’s in Downtown Providence. Two years later, he joined Cox Communications as an Account Executive within their business division, Cox Business, where he won several regional and national sales awards. In 2005, Harvey was promoted to Manager of Channel Development and Retention Sales, where he is tasked to create and manage alternate revenue streams via strategic partnerships and lead a team of sales professionals to increase Cox Business’ existing revenue base via bundling and retention strategies. While with Cox Business, Harvey achieved President’s Club recognition for sales excellence in 2000, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Harvey has served as Board member for The Wheeler School, The Wheeler School’s Alumni Association, and as an Executive Board Member for Meeting Street Center. He has also contributed and held positions for multiple volunteer organizations.
In recognition of his continuing professional development and commitment to community involvement, Harvey was a 2005 recipient of Providence Business News’ “Top 40 under 40”.
Harvey is married to Barbara Lee and has three children, Taylor, Terri and Harvey Lee III “Billy”. Harvey’s participation on Social Media Networks is limited to Facebook but he looks forward to learning more about Social Media and to sharing his experiences as a parent of three.
